Charles C.Y. Chou assumed his position as Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Miami as of February 1st, 2023, where he is in charge of promoting and strengthening economic, political, and cultural relations between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Florida, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Director General Chou has been in the diplomatic career field for over 20 years, holding multiple posts within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His previous assignments included serving as the Deputy Director General for the Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Chairperson of the Congressional Liaison Office of the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA), Assistant Director-General of the Department of West Asian and African Affairs, and Director of the Political Division of TECO in Malaysia. In addition to this, he has also assumed posts in TECO in NY and TECRO in Washington, D.C., the Representative Office of Taiwan to the United States.

Director General Chou holds an MA from the Graduate Institute of American Studies of Tamkang University, Taiwan, and has completed a Diplomat Training Programme from Australia National University as well as a Senior Executive Fellow Program from Harvard University in May of 2012.
