Urban Resilience to Extremes – Miami World Café | Florida International University

March 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We invite you to participate in the Urban Resilience to Extremes – Miami World Café, part of the Urban Resilience to Extremes Sustainability Research Network (UREx SRN) funded by the National Science Foundation. The UREx SRN is an international collaborative research network involving universities and local partners in several cities across the US and Latin America. Florida International University is collaborating with Arizona State University, the City of Miami and multiple local organizations for our work specifically related to extreme climate-related events in Miami. The UREx SRN seeks to support the development of sustainable and resilient strategies that allow cities to better address the challenges of extreme climate events for cities.

Community input developed previously, and the feedback you provide in the UREx Miami World Café, will inform a subsequent scenario development workshop aimed at co-creating alternative futures for Miami that explore challenges and solutions to issues such as extreme coastal and inland flooding, transportation, equity, and nature-based approaches and are representative of Miami goals and values.

The UREx Miami World Café will help us to learn about what issues are important to you and your community, and what types of futures you would like to see developed for Miami.

RSVP here.
