Spotify’s Playlist of the Decade experience has drawn 60 million plus users and 3 billion streams in one week. If anything, the end of the decade has placed math– or at least algorithms in high esteem

So this week, we’d like to offer a few calculating insights for your 2020 preparation:

Einstein’s theory of special relativity, expressed as E = MC2 d falls within the category of things I learned in formal education that I don’t use.  Up until recently, I believed the same held true for several of Newton’s laws of physics.

More than 300 years ago, Newtown proposed a revolutionary idea that we now accept as truth:  gravity is the undeniable force resulting from two objects that influence each other.  Yet, understanding the power of influences is a critical tool in forecasting for future growth and opportunities. Notably a recent McKinsey report suggests several influencing factors that may hold value for innovative companies:

(1) The center of economic gravity is shifting east and south

(2) Globalization patterns are changing, with rapid growth in data flows

(3) The pace of technological progress is accelerating

What factors are influencing your plans for 2020?

Second, Newton’s Third Law: “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction suggests an input of an equal amount of energy and hard work is necessary to achieve any significant output.

How are you preparing for what the next decade has in store?

Whether or not you rely on physics theories, it pays to remember that what goes around eventually comes around.

Cheers,
